Turkish students win UNESCO award

PARIS (A.A) - February 9, 2012 - Turkish students have won an award in world-wide competition of the UNESCO aimed at raising awareness among children over the protection of environment. Students Gozde Korkmaz, Yanki Riza Ezgin, Burcu Kocaer, Begum Kesici and Ece Erkol, from an elementary school in Turkey's northwestern province of Balikesir were presented with their award at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris in the "Environmental Diaries with Pictures" competition. The Turkish students were presented with plaques as well as with 5 thousand euros.
