Turkmen president addresses Turkish parliament

ANKARA (A.A) - Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow addressed Turkish Parliament on Wednesday. Berdimuhamedow said that Turkey carried out activities on the supremacy of law which would be taken as a model. Noting that Turkey extended very important support in Turkmenistan's economic development and during the period after it gained independence, Berdimuhamedow said that Turkey was also a strategic partner for Turkmenistan. Our cooperation is increasing, he said, adding that Turkmenistan was acting together with Turkey in politics and energy areas. Berdimuhamedow said that commercial and economic cooperation further developed between the two countries, adding that Turkish businessmen had important contributions in industry, transportation, textile, construction and other areas in Turkmenistan. Noting that the trade volume between the two countries was on the level of billions of dollars, Berdimuhamedow said that trade volume increased 25 percent in 2011 when compared to 2010. He added that there were more than 600 Turkish companies operating in Turkmenistan.
