Two schools in Bangkok reopen Feb 8 after flu illness
BANGKOK, February 7 (TNA) - Two schools in Bangkok, including Chulalongkorn University Demonstration Elementary School and Saint Joseph Convent School, will reopen on February 8, after a two-day closure to prevent the spread of a strain A human influenza.
Chulalongkorn University Demonstration Elementary School Deputy Director Tinnakorn Buaploo told TNA on Tuesday that his school has suspended classes
during February 6-7 after over 100 students fell ill with the strain A influenza.
The deputy director said the sick students were told to stay home until they fully recover and his school will make up classes for them later.
To prevent the spread of the human flu, the deputy director noted that health officials and those of Pathumwan District, where his school is located, will also help screen students with suspected flu symptoms at his school throughout this week.
Besides, his school is opening up windows to improve air ventilation, instead of using air conditioners, and frequent clean-up of equipment shared among students.
Meanwhile, Saint Joseph Convent School will also reopen on February 8, but three classes in which many students are infected with the influenza will remain closed for a week and will resume classes on February 14. (TNA)
