UAE-led by Khalifa consolidates religious tolerance concepts among religions, says Pope Tawadros II

Abu Dhabi (WAM): Pope Tawadros II of the Coptic Orthodox Church hailed the role, being played by the UAE, led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to advance tolerance among religions and promote the values of love and peace throughout the Arab region and the world at large. Pope Tawadros hailed the UAE's support for the Egyptian people after the 30th of June Revolution and its historic stance amid the dire conditions, witnessed by Egypt. In a press conference, held at The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Pope Tawadros affirmed that his visit to the UAE embodied love among the two fraternal peoples, expressing appreciation of the Egyptian people and leadership for the UAE for its unforgettable strong support during its crisis in the previous period. He added that the UAE's stance towards Egypt reflects its deep-rooted values. He added that the UAE's support in this current stage represents the strong historic relations between the two countries, adding that the country's wise leadership continues the approach of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan towards Egypt. He also extended thanks and appreciation to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Their Highnesses Rulers of the Emirates and His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, for the UAE's relentless efforts to achieve equality among all religions. He added that principles of religious tolerance and spread of values of peace and love values, adopted by the UAE, were founded by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and were based on the deep understanding of teachings of the Islam as well as on commitment to the moderate approach. At the end, Pope Tawadros reiterated, "The UAE is the land of religious tolerance which embraces all nationalities across the world, and this is a wonderful role model for a number of countries worldwide.''
