UK Search For Comprehensive Partnership With Malaysian Companies

KUALA LUMPUR, April 19 (Bernama) -- United Kingdom Trade and Investment Defence and Security Organisation (UKTI DSO) are interested in fostering industrial partnerships with Malaysian companies. Under UKTI DSO, about 40 United Kingdom (UK) companies have participated in the Defence Services Asia (DSA 2012) exhibition and conference, which started on Apr 16 at Putra World Trade Center, here. UKTI DSO Head Richard Paniguan said the organisation has encouraged UK and Malaysian companies to network and identify joint industrial and technological cooperation. "The UK has a significant range of world class products across the air, land, maritime, disaster relief and security sectors. "UK industry is keen to establish enduring and mutually beneficial partnerships with the very capable industrial and technological based in Malaysia," he said in a statement, here on Thursday. He said UK wished to be a key partner in the Malaysian vision for 2020. One of the most striking UKTI DSO display in DSA was a full scale replica multi-role combat aircraft Eurofighter Typhoon from Bae systems, which is a candidate for the Royal Malaysian Air Force’s plan to replace Russian made MiG-29N jetfighters. The replica has been showcased at the entrance to the show. The UKTI DSO is showcasing diverse capabilities to military and civil authorities, including military and civil special exhibition team, who are ready to demonstrate a wide range of specialised UK equipment at its stand adjacent to the UK Pavilion in the DSA. --BERNAMA
