UN efforts in enhancing human development in Bahrain hailed

Manama, Sept. 2 (BNA): The Assistant Foreign Minister, Abdulla bin Faisal bin Jabur Al Doseri received United Nations Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative to Bahrain, Amin Al-Sharkawi. Al Doseri praised the efforts and role of the UN office in enhancing the human development the Kingdom, in accordance with directives of His Majesty the King, to achieve prosperity and the SDG’s. He also affirmed the Kingdom’s keenness on accomplishing further achievements and enhancing its cooperation and coordination with all relevant UN agencies to ensure the progress of the developmental work Bahrain. The Assistant Foreign Minister also underlined Bahrain's commitment and keenness to take and adopt many steps and initiatives and develop its plans and programs in line with the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals 2030, such as the issuance of the national reports on the Millennium Goals in the Kingdom, Isa Award for services to Humanity, The King Hamad Award, and the Nasser Bin Hamad Award for Youth Creativity, all of which highlight the tangible progress and the Kingdom's efforts in various developmental areas. Al Sharkawi expressed his appreciation for the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the UN office and its initiatives and wished Bahrain further progress and prosperity. The meeting also discussed several issues of shared interest.
