BANGKOK, October 27 (TNA) - The United Nation General Assembly (UNGA) will hold a special session on October 28 to pay tribute to late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand, who passed away on October 13.
According to Thailand's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, the UNGA will hold the 15-minute special session on Friday, at 10am (local time but 9pm Thailand time), during which representatives of several countries will each deliver a speech to pay tribute in honor of the late and revered Thai monarch.
Virachai stated that the UNGA President will first deliver his speech, followed by presidents of five regions and US Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power.
The top Thai envoy to the United Nations noted that he will be the last person to take the floor, saying that the special event can be viewed through the UN’s live webcast. (TNA)
