US ambassador visits Northern Governorate

Manama, Apr. 24 (BNA): The US Ambassador to Bahrain Justin Siberell lauded the national and social programmes carried out by the Northern Governorate within the framework of "We Are All partners In Peace" initiative. He was speaking as he visited today the governorate where he met Northern Governor Ali bin Al-Shaikh Abdul Hussain Al Asfoor. He praised the wide range of programmes and projects implemented by the governorate for the people there.  The Northern Governor welcomed the US ambassador, wishing him constant success and stressing unique historical relations between Bahrain and the USA. He said the leadership of His Majesty the King has built those relations on cooperation as well as political, economic, investment and cultural coordination. He briefed the US ambassador on the governorate’s efforts to engage the non-government organisations (NGOs), citizens and residents in the national and social programmes so as to boost the national texture and civil peace as well as maintain freedom, pluralism, tolerance and coexistence which have ever characterized the Bahraini community. The Northern Governor pointed out the support given by Interior Minister Lieutenant General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa to the governorate’s programmes to promote those values and ensure safe holding of religious rituals.  The Northern Governor presented the US ambassador with a commemorative gift expressing "We Are Partners In Peace" initiative.
