Vegetarian Festival at Bangkok China Town vigorous
BANGKOK, Oct 1 (TNA) -- Thais of Chinese descents in Bangkok had worshipped sacred entities since this morning for luck and fortune ahead of the official opening of the Yaowarat or Bangkok China Town Vegetarian Festival 2016 this evening.
The first day of the festival at Yaowarat has been extremely active, as Thai-Chinese adorn white clothing to join in with the festivity and worshipped 12 God statues from China, current on display near the gate into this Bangkok China Town.
Vegetarian food booths are also available along the Yaowarat road, while the main highlight of the official opening ceremony this evening is the cooking of 1,770 dish of veggie food on the spot to give out for free to the visitors enjoying the festival.
The old market at Yaowarat was also lively since the early morning, as shoppers shopped and purchase ingredients for vegetarian food.
A report revealed that the prices of goods have risen slightly, though the public continued to express their willingness to spend more, as they this as an opportunity to make merits and gain good health.
The atmosphere there is expecting to become more bustling this afternoon, as traffic in the area would be closed off starting at 4pm., Thailand's time, to prepare for the official opening ceremony of the festival for the year. (TNA)
