Vocational students will be trained in English firms
BANGKOK, June 18 (TNA) -- Thai Education Minister Dapong Rattanasuwan held talks with companies from the United Kingdom aiming to send vocational students for trainings in British companies to increase skill and English capability.
Gen Dapong met the members of the United Kingdom Chamber of Commerce on cooperation between the agency and Thailand's Office of the Vocational Education Commission (VEC) for vocational diploma graduates in Thailand to have trainings at over 600 English companies invested overseas including Thailand.
The minister said the UK Chamber of Commerce is more than pleased to carry out bilateral cooperation and to provide trainings for the Thai youths.
The British Chamber of Commerce pointed out that Thai vocational students have excellent skills but lack in English proficiency, advising that VEC must immediately solve the weak point by sending the youths for trainings at English companies in order to improve their working and language skills at the same time, as well as lift the quality of the students by using the standard set by the UK.
VEC Secretary-General Chaipreuk Sereerak said after this VEC would hold detail talks with the team from UK Chamber of Commerce on which companies out of 600 would be able to accept students for trainings. (TNA)
