Voluntary Award’s jury announced

Manama, Aug. 3 (BNA): The High Organising Committee of the eighth edition of the HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa’s Award for Voluntary Work, led by the Good Word Society board chairman, Hassan Bu Hazza’a, has announced the formation of the jury of the Best Bahraini Voluntary Work Project Award. According to Bu Hazza, the panel comprises Dr. Faleh Al-Ruwaili, Ahmed Ahmadi and media figure, Eman Marhoon. He highlighted the committee’s keenness on selecting high-profile jury members with expertise in and contributions to voluntary work in Bahrain in order to cope with the developments witnessed by the Best Bahraini Voluntary Work Project Award in its fourth edition, held on the sidelines of the main award –the HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa’s Award for Voluntary Work. He explained that the new edition will feature the three main categories, including those for voluntary individuals, associations and teams, in addition to a new one allocated for expatriates who participate in voluntary projects that serve the kingdom. A total of US$ 15,000 will be earmarked for the four categories of the prestigious award, which will also honour companies that show a special interest in community partnership through their various initiatives, he said. The award, held under the patronage of HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa. aims to encourage voluntary work at the level of individuals and associations in Bahrain, and promote creative ideas in this regard, he added. He noted that nomination for the Best Voluntary Work Project Award in Bahrain will be open until mid August, calling on Bahraini youth to participate massively and showcase their creative projects that would address the challenges faced by society in the health, educational, economic and social fields, among others. The winners will be honoured on the sidelines of the 8th edition of the HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa’s Award for Voluntary Work which willl be held in September, marking the Arab Voluntary Work Day 2018. The HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa’s Award for Voluntary Work is organised by the Good Word Society, and sponsored by Tamkeen, Bahrain Airport Services (BAS), Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) and Al-Baraka Group.
