Wat Pho ranked 17th world best landmark in TripAdvisor ratings

BANGKOK, Sept 17 (TNA) – Wat Phra Chetuphon or Wat Pho scored 17th place in the world best landmark rankings of the 2018 TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards, up from 24th place in the last year’s ratings. Tourists around the world voted through the US travelling website, TripAdvisor. Cambodia's Angkor Wat is ranked number one for another year while the Great Wall of China follows Wat Pho in the 18th place. Wat Pho as known the Temple of the Reclining Buddha secured the third place in Asia after Cambodia’s Angkor Wat and India’s Taj Mahal. The centuries-old temple, located near the Grand Palace in Bangkok’s historic area records about 10,000 foreign visitors per day on average. Tourists, visiting the temple come from South Korea, Japan, France, Germany, England, the U.S., India and Russia. Former US president, Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton travelled to Wat Pho during their visits to Bangkok. (TNA)
