Whale sharks spotted off Krabi Island

KRABI, Aug 28 (TNA) – Rare whale sharks were spotted off Hong Islands in the Andaman coastal province of Krabi. Photos of five-metre- long whale shark were taken by a tour guide, showing it was feeding on plankton as the rare creatures were sighted several times there in the past week, said Head of the Than Bok Khorani National Park, Veerasak Srisatchang. As much as five whale sharks were seen swimming together by tourists, he said. The national park will conduct a survey on the sightings of the whale sharks and their movement patterns. There could be whale shark watching tours in Krabi in the future, he added. (TNA)
