W.Kalimantan Police Arrest Two Chinese Citizens

Pontianak, W Kalimantan, Dec 13 (ANTARA) - The Pontianak city police precinct arrested two Chinese citizens, identified as Ruiwen and Jinan, and Eko, one of the Indonesian people after they were red-handed caught when hypnotizing their victims of fraud. "Both Chinese citizens and one Indonesian have been questioned and accused of having cheated by means of hypnotizing their victims," Commissioner Puji Prayitno, head of the local police detective section said on Wednesday. According to Puji, the three persons were caught when they were about to hypnotize their victim (Theng Soi Jong) in Pontianak market. "Theng admitted he had handed Rp60 million to the perpetrators and the money had been taken by the other two gang members (Dongmei and Jingfen)," the police disclosed, adding that police had confiscated their passports. "We are now calculating financial loss suffered by the victim (Theng Soi Jong) where the perpetrators might have cheated more than one persons, as according to the victim, the fraudulent actions have been committed in several cities such as in Pontianak, Singkawang and Landak," Puji noted.
