Work System for State Anti-epidemic Policy Complemented in DPRK

Pyongyang, July 19 (KCNA) -- The work system and order of conduct have been steadily complemented in each area and sector of the DPRK in the course of implementing the state anti-epidemic policy to completely defuse the current epidemic crisis and protect the health and safety of the people in a sustained way. The state emergency epidemic prevention headquarters intensifies its organization and guidance to timely solve the urgent problems arising in correctly setting each regional and sectional direction of activity at the present stage and firmly consolidating the material and technological foundations for epidemic prevention. The project for establishing a scientific and advanced anti-epidemic foundation in each region is vigorously propelled under the state plan and in close liaison and cooperation with relevant organs. Medicine supply centres, standardized pharmacies, accomodation capacities, closure conditions and treatment conditions are further improved in each region and a work is going on to set up multi-functional quarantine places. Provincial, city and county people's hospitals improve their medical service and ensure the safety of treatment in constant liaison with rapid consultative diagnosis teams organized at central-level hospitals. All areas and units focus their efforts on turning their areas into epidemic-free zones by cementing the anti-epidemic and public health foundation while carrying out the measures taken by the state for epidemic prevention. The work for enhancing crisis conciousness among the people and enlisting their activeness has been steadily intensified in the country. On July 16 alone, more than 351 770 officials and hygigenic workers conducted health education in anti-epidemic and hygigenic knowledge. Mobile treatment teams, emergency medical teams and rapid diagnosis and treatment teams across the country correctly diagnose enteric epidemic and other diseases and take immediate and relevant measures for treating them by conducting effective medical checkup of inhabitants under their charge. -0-
