Works Ministry holds building evacuation workshop
Manama, July 10 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain has given top priority to ensuring the citizens’ right to decent housing, in line with the principles embedded in the comprehensive development project launched by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the directives of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, and First Deputy Premier.
The housing issue has topped the development plans and programmes in the kingdom, given its importance in boosting Bahrain’s efforts to provide the requirements of decent living, as well as social security and stability for the citizens, in accordance with Article (9) of the Constitution and Article (5) of the National Action Charter, as well as the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR) which was ratified by the Kingdom in 2008.
In this regard, HRH the Crown Prince ordered the Housing Ministry, on June 28, to distribute 3,000 housing units to the citizens from various social segments across the kingdom’s governorates.
