Works Ministry, Jaffari Endowments discuss projects

Manama, July 5 (BNA): Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf received at his office Chairman of Jaffari Endowments Al Sheikh Mohsin bin Al Sheikh Abdul Hussain Al Asfoor, in the presence of Director of the Chairman’s office Isa Malik, Chairman of Registration Department Adel Thabit and Eng. Ahmed Al A’Ali. Present from the Ministry’s side were Director General of the capital Secretariat Sheikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Assistant Undersecretary for Corporate Municipal Services Eng. Raed Al Salah, Roads Planning & Design Director Eng. Kadhim Abdul Latif and Private Sector Projects Advisor Rashid Al Saad.
The minister welcomed Al Asfoor and his companions; commending the role extended by the Endowments Directorate in serving the nation and its citizens.
The meeting highlighted a number of proposals related to different projects, where Al Asfoor presented the Minister with his visions about a number of promising projects that require studying and planning prior to preparing the required engineering designs.
Chairman of the Jaffari Endowments revealed that the directorate possesses assets in different areas in the Kingdom, including 250 real estates in Manama. He also stated that work is presently underway to invest some of those real estates to improve infrastructure and maintain the bright side of the Capital.
The projects proposed by the Jaffari Endowments Directorate included constructing the Craftsman Traditional Thursdays Market Complex, constructing North Town Craftsman Traditional Market Complex, Bani Jamra Traditional Market, Hamala Traditional Market, in addition to a Gold Market, Blacksmithing Market and other specialized markets.
As for the proposed commercial markets, they are Jidhafs Commercial Center and Manama Old Market. Al Asfoor also discussed with the Minister the parking lot for Manama Central Hall, revamping Hoora Cemetery parking lot to accommodate 250 parking spaces, constructing parking spaces for part halls and constructing the Central Party Hall in Manama.
