World Savings Day to be held in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Oct. 24, 2022. / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan will host an international information and educational campaign World Savings Day on Oct. 24 – 31, Aida Karabaeva, official representative of the National Bank of the country told at a press conference at Kabar News Agency.
He said that the World Savings Day has been celebrated annually since 2015. The purpose of this campaign is to increase the financial literacy of the population and the culture of savings, which contributes to the adoption of reasonable financial decisions, the formation of a financial safety cushion and the achievement of financial goals.
“The formation of savings is a very important issue, since no one is immune from unforeseen circumstances, often associated with a temporary cessation of cash receipts and financial costs. According to international practice, in order to overcome temporary financial difficulties without tangible damage to a person/family, it is necessary to have savings equal to at least six months of expenses. In addition, the formation of a culture of savings among the population, especially among young people, will have a positive effect,” she said.
She noted that during the World Savings Day, held from October 24 to 31, various events will be held for the population, such as open days, excursions to financial institutions, the National Bank Numismatic Museum, lectures and lessons on financial literacy for youth and adults population, interactive games, various promotions, contests, a financial fair and much more.
“At these events, participants will be able to learn about the methods and types of savings, the rules for successful savings, the deposit protection system and a lot of useful financial literacy. Organizations participating in the World Savings Day will hold more than 170 events in which everyone can take part,” Karabaeva said.
