Young Malaysian-Indonesian Entreprenuers To Cooperate In 33 Areas
By Ahmad Fuad Yahya
SURABAYA (Indonesia), April 10 (Bernama) -- A memorandum of understanding
(MoU) will be signed between young entreprenuers of Malaysia and Indonesia
covering 33 businesses.
SME Corp Malaysia Chief Operations Officer Rohana Ramly said the
50,000-member Himpunan Pengusaha Muda Indonesia (HIPMI) wished to foster close
ties with young entreprenuers from Malaysia.
"International Trade and Industry Minister of Malaysia Mustapa Mohamed has
asked SME Corp Malaysia to facilitate the MoU. We are very serious about
following up on the MoU. We will pick a Malaysian counterpart for HIPMI, which
is an organisation, as we are a government agency," she told Bernama here.
Rohana was here on a two-day delegates visit by small and medium
entreprenuers (SME) from Malaysia under the guidance of SME Corp Malaysia and
Halal Development Corporation to Surabaya and East Jawa, headed by Mustapa.
"We also want SME entreprenuers from Malaysia to learn the best practices
of SME Indonesia and also share their experiences with their counterparts from
Indonesia," he said.
She said the matching of PKS entreprenuers in the same sectors with their
counterparts from Surabaya and East Jawa on Monday would enable both parties to
identify possible two way trades or joint ventures in Malaysia or Indonesia.
She said the PKS entreprenuers of Malaysia and Indonesia would no longer be
competitors with the cooperation but would be complementary in turning out
products for a bigger market in Asean and outside the region.
Surabaya and East Jawa had many potentials for PKS entreprenuers from both
countries in the food, drinks and vegetable production sectors and also in
logistics, oil and gas, she added.
