Youth contributions to sustainable development emphasized

Manama, Mar 27 (BNA): Information Affairs Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al-Rumaihi stressed Bahrain's interest in promoting the national youth cadres, and its pride in their active contributions to the construction and sustainable development process and the democratic and media development, as a national treasure under the reform project led by HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. In a statement given on the sidelines of the International Youth Conference, the Information Minister praised Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King's Personal Representatives for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, also President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, for patronizing the conference which is organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs under the theme (Success before 30). The minister commended Shaikh Nasser's speech in which highlighted Bahrain's interest in embracing the youth and inspiring the creators of the various countries of the world. The minister pointed the efforts of the government led by HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and the support of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, in expanding options available to the youth and promoting their educational and vocational capabilities, as they are the focus of the royal reforms. He underlined keenness of the state's institutions to develop the youth's skills of leadership and creativity and boost their competitiveness at the labour market level. He also noted the government's development programmes and projects aimed at bolstering education, health and training services and strengthening the infrastructure of the youth and sports centers. The minister concluded the statement by underscoring the key role the Bahraini youth to play in the media development, noting the radio and TV programmes that accentuate their achievements and successes and disseminate the spirit of loyalty to the homeland and leadership.
