Youth Minister receives ITU Regional Director

Manama, Dec. 12 (BNA): Youth Affairs Minister, Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, received here today the Director of the Regional Office of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) for the Arab States, Adel Mohamed Darwish. The minister commended the great role played by Adel Dawish to enable ITU Regional Office to achieve its goals, noting that he is among the experienced national competencies, which entitled him to this distinguished regional post. The two sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, through launching joint initiatives that would provide Bahraini youth with the necessary expertise in the field of information and communication technology, supporting youths' projects and providing the necessary incubators for them to develop their innovations in the telecommunications field. ITU Regional Director congratulated the minister on her appointment to her post. He stressed the importance of cooperation between the two sides in launching joint programmes aimed at developing youths' digital skills in technology fields, as well as providing the necessary technical support for them in the field of telecommunications.
