Youth Minister receives WHO Office Head

Manama, Apr. 12 (BNA): Minister of Youth and Sport Affairs, Ayman bin Tawfiq Al Moayed, received the Representative and Head of the World Health Organisation (WHO)’s Office in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Dr. Tasnim Ghalib Atatra. The meeting was held in the presence of senior officials from the ministry and WHO. The Minister of Youth and Sport Affairs affirmed the ministry’s keenness on cooperation with WHO to carry out youth-oriented health programmes in tune with the ministry’s trend to enrich the “Bahrain Youth Year 2022” which was launched by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The minister pointed out the key and influential role of WHO, through its taskforce in Bahrain, in promoting public health. He underlined the significance of enhancing relations between the Ministry of Youth and Sport Affairs and WHO to engage Bahraini youngsters in achieving the sustainable development goals related to the health aspects. Dr. Atatra voiced keenness of WHO on consolidating cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sport Affairs, praising the ministry’s promising programmes and initiative aimed at honing the youth’s skills and potentials. She pointed out that the international organization will work on promoting cooperation with the ministry to carry out health and awareness programmes to boost public health and turn it into a lifestyle.
