Kick-off Meeting for Letter Relay of Loyalty Held by KCU Members

Pyongyang, May 19 (KCNA) -- The Korean Children's Union (KCU) members are faithfully following the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un who saw to it that the KCU congresses were held with splendor and bestowed great glory and the highest privileges to be envied by the world on them.

Such pure mind of all schoolchildren is expressed in the letter to the fatherly Marshal on the lapse of 70 years since a letter of best wishes was sent to President Kim Il Sung by Chairman Kim Jong Il during the rigorous days of the grime Fatherland Liberation War.

KCU members across the country, keeping deep in their hearts each paragraph of the letter of best wishes written by Kim Jong Il for the good health and wellbeing of the President seventy years ago, reflecting the unanimous desire of the Korean people, requested that they would take part in the relay for sending a letter of loyalty to the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un.

The relay is to be held, divided into the east and west coastal areas, starting from the Paektusan Secret Camp. It will be attended by the members of the KCU in each province who have distinguished themselves in study and KCU organizational life.

A kick-off meeting of the letter relay of loyalty by KCU members across the country took place at the Paektusan Secret Camp on Thursday.

Present there were Ri Tu Song, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), Ri Thae Il, chief secretary of the Ryanggang Provincial Committee of the WPK, Mun Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, officials concerned, officials of the youth league and members of the KCU in Ryanggang Province.

A letter reflecting the ardent desire of all the members of the KCU for the wellbeing of the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un was read out at the meeting.

Mun Chol handed the letter to the Ryanggang provincial letter relay team.

At the end of the meeting, the start of the letter relay of loyalty was declared.

Members of the KCU in Ryanggang Province, who are heading the team, left the Paektusan Secret Camp with a strong will to prepare themselves as reliable successors and communist reserves carrying forward the revolutionary cause.

Officials, working people, young people, youth and students in Samjiyon City and other places in the province welcomed the Ryanggang provincial letter relay team that day. -0-
