Kuwait Fund ready to allocate USD 1 mln to Kyrgyzstan for development of feasibility study for projects

Bishkek, May 13, 2023. / Kabar /. The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) is ready to consider priority projects in Kyrgyzstan, the country’s Ministry of Finance reported.

A bilateral meeting was held between First Deputy Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Adylbek Kasymaliev and Minister of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic Almaz Baketaev with Director of the Operations Department of the Kuwait Economic Development Fund Abdulla Al-Mesaibih at the site of the Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Islamic Development Bank.

The meeting took place as part of a working trip to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting, Kasymaliev proposed to consider the implementation of a project in the field of development of the water supply and sanitation system in the Kyrgyz Republic, which will improve the social level of the population.

The Kuwaiti side informed about the possibility of approving grant and technical assistance for the development of a feasibility study for infrastructure projects in the amount of USD 1 million, which will provide maximum assistance in the sustainable implementation of joint projects with the Kuwait Fund.

The sides noted the need to intensify joint efforts to achieve effective cooperation.
