Kyrgyz climbers deliver Manas epic to Everest

Bishkek, May 18, 2023. / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstani Saydylkan uulu Kadyr delivered the Manas epic to the top of Everest, former head of Kyrgyz national channel Ilim Karypbekov said on Facebook.

“Yesterday morning at 07:40, the son of the Kyrgyz Saidylkan uulu Kadyr delivered a flag and, for the first time in history, a 3-kilogram epic Manas to the great peak of the world Everest,” he wrote.

The Manas epic is the longest epic poem in the world and included in the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

The Manas tells about the life and deeds of hero Manas, his son and grandson Semetei Seitek. A legend has it that it was Manas, who united separate Kyrgyz tribes into a single nation. The trilogy describes Kyrgyz culture, customs and traditions.
