Kyrgyz Energy Ministry discusses construction of solar power plant with Masdar

The press service of the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic said that the main purpose of the meeting was to consider the implementation of the project for the construction of a solar power plant with a capacity of 200 MW by the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan and Masdar on the basis of a previously concluded agreement.

In addition, survey work is being considered for the placement of a solar station on land plots in the Issyk-Kul, Jalal-Abad and Naryn regions under this project.

As a result of the meeting, the representatives of the company decided send the company's technical specialists to visit Kyrgyzstan in mid-May this year to study the technical parameters of the project.

Earlier, within the framework of Taalaibek Ibraev’s working trip to Abu Dhabi, a document was signed with the investment company Masdar, owned by the government of Abu Dhabi, on the construction of a solar power plant with a capacity of 200 MW.

On the basis of the concluded contract, Masdar conducts research for 4 months. Then, in June, the implementation of the agreement for the construction of the station will begin. It is planned that the station will be put into operation in 2025.
