Kyrgyz FM and OSCE Secretary General meet in Bishkek

Bishkek, June 5, 2023. / Kabar /. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubaev met today with OSCE Secretary General Helga Maria Schmid as part of her visit to Kyrgyzstan.

During the meeting, issues of interaction between Kyrgyzstan and the OSCE in three dimensions of security were discussed: military-political, economic-environmental and human, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported.

The sides noted with satisfaction the achieved level of cooperation. Kulubaev expressed gratitude to the OSCE for supporting democratic processes, strengthening the stability and security of the country. He noted the relevance of ongoing OSCE projects in such priority areas for the country as the fight against corruption and organized crime, digitalization and good governance, reform of the judicial and law enforcement systems, as well as economic development, ecology and climate.

The OSCE Secretary General welcomed the high level of interaction within the OSCE, assuring her of further support in these areas.

The issues of the regional agenda were also discussed, in particular, the integration processes in Central Asia, as well as the security challenges and threats facing the states of the region today, and the possibility of using the available OSCE tools and mechanisms to address them.
