Kyrgyzstan expects increase in number of tourists by 25%

Bishkek, May 15, 2023. / Kabar /. This year Kyrgyzstan is expected to increase the number of tourists by 25%. This became known during the Issyk-Kul International Tourism Fair Issyk-Kul ITF 2023, which is taking place today in Cholpon-Ata.

According to the press service of the Tourism Development Support Fund, the exhibition marked the start of the summer tourist season. It promises to be busy this year.

“According to our preliminary estimates, the increase in the flow of tourists from Western Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia will be at least 25% compared to last year due to the participation of the Kyrgyz Republic in 11 major international tourism exhibitions,” Elena Kalashnikova said.

She also noted that Kazakhstanis and Russians show a great interest in traveling in the Kyrgyz Republic.

“Moreover, there are requests from these countries for a longer period of stay in the Kyrgyz Republic than before,” Kalashnikova said.
