Kyrgyzstan to host Second EU - Central Asia Summit

Bishkek, May 30, 2023. / Kabar /. The Second European Union - Central Asia Summit will be held in Cholpon-Ata town of Kyrgyzstan on June 2 this year, under the chairmanship of President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov.

Head of the foreign policy department of the presidential administration Muratbek Azymbakiev said that Presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan Nurmuhammet Amannepesov and President of the European Council Charles Michel will attend the summit.

The current state and prospects of political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two regions will be discussed, and an exchange of views on topical issues on the international agenda and interaction between the states of Central Asia and the European Union take place.

In addition, Sadyr Zhaparov will hold bilateral meetings with the heads of delegations.

The next day, June 3, the official visit of the President of the European Council Charles Michel to Kyrgyzstan will take place.

Bilateral talks with President Sadyr Zhaparov are planned within the framework of the visit. The sides will discuss issues of the Kyrgyz-European partnership,” said Muratbek Azymbakiev.
