Kyrgyzstan ready to lend helping hand to Afghan people - Rep to UN

Bishkek, June 22, 2023. / Kabar/. On June 21, 2023, the UN Security Council held a meeting on Afghanistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN Aida Kasymalieva noted during her speech that the Kyrgyz Republic is interested in a peaceful and stable Afghanistan, is ready to develop good neighborly relations and lend a helping hand to the Afghan people.

In addition, the importance of integrating the Afghan economy into regional processes, including the implementation of the CASA-1000 project for the export of electricity through Afghanistan to the countries of South Asia, was noted.

The meeting was also attended by Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Afghanistan, Head of the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan, Roza Otunbaeva, who informed the members of the Council about the situation in that country.
