By M. Saraswathi NEW DELHI, July 10 (Bernama) -- Ten Malaysian students with Tamil linguistic background have enrolled in an eight-week internship course on Tamil language and culture at VIT University’s Vellore campus in Tamil Nadu. The students, from the University of Malaya, are attending the programme designed for those from families which have been residing in Malaysia for over three generations, reported The Hindu newspaper. Speaking at the inauguration of the programme, VIT Chancellor G. Viswanathan advised the participants to make use of the course to know about their ancestors and their way of life. VIT would bear all the expenses to be incurred by the students, including airfare, board and lodging. The course is particularly aimed at those interested to learn more about Tamil culture, with reference to the several rulers and kings in the ancient state of Tamil Nadu. -- BERNAMA
