7 medical workers infected with coronavirus in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Apr. 7, 2020 / Kabar /. 7 health workers have been infected with coronavirus infection in Kyrgyzstan, Minister of Health of the country Sabirzhan Abdikarimov told a news briefing. He said that another 12 new cases of COVID-19 infection were confirmed in the country past night. “Among the newly diagnosed infected patients, 7 people are medical workers. 2 doctors and 5 nurses, who had contacted with patients,” he said. The minister noted that they have no clinical symptoms, just the causative agents of COVID-19 were found. All of them are placed in infectious diseases hospitals and receive appropriate treatment. “We are conducting an epidemiological study. All doctors and paramedics working with the infected patients wear the same costumes. All have protective suits of the same quality. Perhaps the reason here is that they themselves did not fully comply with safety regulations. The special commission is conducting a study of this issue,” said the minister. To-date, cases of COVID-19 infection in Kyrgyzstan have increased to 228.
