Al Hiba Charity Team To Hold Charity Dinner

Doha , May 04 (QNA) - Under the patronage of the Chairperson of Qatar Museum Authority HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, Al Hiba Group of Qatar Volunteer Center will hold Sunday at the Saint Regis hotel a charity dinner and auction for cancer, heart and kidney patients for residents of Qatar HE Chairperson of Al Hiba Sheikha Lina bint Nasser bint Khalid Al Thani expressed her thanks to HE Sheikha Mayassa for sponsoring the charity event. HE Sheikha Lina told reporters that she expected the auction and the dinner would raise more than QR 4 million. The upcoming charity dinner will be the third one organized by Al Hiba team and Her Excellency expressed her hope that the team can contribute in treating a number of the cases in the country. Al Hiba team helped treat more than 400 cases, the majority of them suffering from cancer, heart diseases and kidney diseases. Some 350 of those cases were inside Qatar. The remaining cases were in Yemen, 44, Cambodia, 60 and 20 cases in Palestine. Al Hiba team is the only charity that focuses on treating residents in Qatar. Their latest contribution was purchasing 30 wheel-chairs for patients in Al Rumailah hospital. The team managed to raise QR12 million from donators in recent years. (QNA)
