Bishkek hosts 17th meeting of prosecutors general of SCO countries

Bishkek, Oct. 1, 2019 / Kabar /. The 17th meeting of prosecutors general of SCO member states is taking place in Bishkek. The decision to hold this meeting was made following the 16th meeting of the prosecutors general of the SCO member states in September 2018 in Dushanbe. The meeting is attended by delegations of the prosecutor general's offices of India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, as well as observer states and dialogue partners of Belarus, Iran, Mongolia, Armenia, Turkey, the SCO Secretariat, the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorism Structure, Secretariat of the CISG CIS and the International Association of Prosecutors. During the meeting, participants will discuss issues of improving the interaction of prosecution bodies of the SCO member states in the field of combating smuggling and illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors. In addition, it is expected that the Protocol of the 17th meeting of prosecutors general of the SCO member states will be signed. For the third time, Kyrgyzstan has become the meeting place for the prosecutors general of the SCO member states. At the last meeting, held on Sept. 26, 2013 in Bishkek, recommendations were developed on enhancing cooperation between prosecution authorities - SCO members. Since then, the interaction of prosecution authorities has become systematic and fruitful, which has contributed to the strengthening of interdepartmental understanding, the development of strategic partnerships and the improvement of the fight against crime
