Boronov and Aripov discuss conflict on border villages of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan

Bishkek, June 1, 2020 / Kabar /. First Vice Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Kubatbek Boronov met with Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdullah Aripov at the Chechme-Avtodorozhniy checkpoint in Batken Oblast, the government’s press service said. During the meeting, the conflict was discussed that took place the day before between the residents of the border villages of the two countries. The sides expressed regret over the incident on the Kyrgyz-Uzbek section of the state border and called for a set of comprehensive joint measures to resolve the situation, prevent its escalation and relieve tension in the border areas. The two countries expressed commitment to the previously reached agreements and a constructive approach in addressing emerging issues. Kubatbek Boronov and Abdulla Aripov also exchanged views on bilateral cooperation and other pressing issues. As a result of the meeting, the sides agreed to conduct joint investigative measures.
