CIS tax officials discuss tax administration in digital economy

Bishkek, Nov.27, 2019. /Kabar/. The 26th meeting of the Coordinating Council of Heads of Tax Services of the Commonwealth of Independent States took place in Moscow on Tuesday, Nov. 26. State Secretary of Kyrgyzstan’s State Tax Service Karagul uulu Zhakyp took part in the meeting, the press service of the Kyrgyz State Tax Service said. The event was also attended by representatives of the tax authorities of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, as well as the CIS Executive Committee, the Basic Organization of the CIS member states for training, professional retraining and advanced training in the field of taxes and taxation. Delegations of the tax authorities of China and Uzbekistan were present as observers. Besides, representatives of the international fiscal community-the Eurasian Economic Commission, the European Organisation of Tax Administrations, the International Monetary Fund, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, as well as the World Bank also took part in the meeting. The regular meeting of the CIS Coordinating Council of Heads of Tax Services was devoted to tax administration in the digital economy. The delegations exchanged views on tax administration and the introduction of new information technologies. Following the discussion, the parties agreed to implement new joint projects in this area. The participants also discussed the changes in the composition of the Coordinating Council, the results of the work plan for 2017-2018, assessed the progress of the third stage of the CIS economic development strategy for the period up to 2020 and the project of the first stage of the CIS economic development strategy for the period up to 2030. The Council also identified the main areas of work for the next year and elected a new Chairman of the Coordinating Council. The Coordinating Council was established by resolution of the CIS Heads of Government Council of May 31, 2001, to support coordinated activities of the tax services in the CIS member states.
