Deputy PM Ismailova holds meeting with medical specialists from Poland

Bishkek, Apr. 24, 2020. /Kabar/. Regional office of the World Health Organization (WHO) hosted a meeting of Kyrgyzstan’s Deputy Prime Minister Aida Isamailova with medical specialists from Poland. The Polish medics have arrived in Kyrgyzstan through the WHO in order to render assistance in the fight against coronavirus infection. Deputy PM Ismailova noted the timely arrival of the group of medical experts and joint cooperation with local specialists, the Government’s press service said. During the meeting the results of observations of specialists were discussed and opinions were exchanged on the work carried out by Kyrgyz specialists. In turn, the Polish doctors praised the professionalism of Kyrgyz doctors and the equipment of hospitals. Ismailova expressed gratitude to Kyrgyz and Polish doctors, employees of the World Health Organization for the assistance provided. A team of doctors from Poland will also visit regional hospitals and, together with Kyrgyz doctors, will examine patients and analyze the causes of infection of medical workers. The meeting was attended by First Deputy Chief of President’s Office Almaz Kenenbayev, Deputy Prime Minister Aida Ismailova, Health Minister Sabirzhan Abdikarimov, Head of WHO Country Office in Kyrgyzstan Nazira Artykova and others. A group of medical specialists from Poland, consisting of 8 people, has arrived in Kyrgyzstan on Apr. 19 through the WHO. The doctors will help domestic medical workers in the fight against coronavirus infection in the cities of Bishkek, Osh and Dzhalal-Abad. For four days they were in the Republican Clinical Infectious Disease Hospital (RCIDH), and together with the specialists of this hospital were monitoring patients infected. As of Apr. 24, 25 new confirmed cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in Kyrgyzstan, including 172 cases among medical workers. 322 people have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals. There are 12 COVID-19 patients are in hospitals in serious condition, 5 of them are in intensive care. 8 COVID-19 patients have passed away.
