EDB to finance purchase of three aircrafts for Air Manas

Bishkek, Mar.12, 2020. /Kabar/. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) will finance the purchase of three aircraft for Air Manas, Chairman of EDB Board Andrei Belyaninov said during the video-link. According to him, today the Bank is implementing a project through the State Transport Leasing Company to purchase three aircraft for Air Manas. "We hope this deal will take place and the renewal of Kyrgyz airlines will begin," he said. Besides, Andrey Belyaninov noted the EDB offered Kyrgyzstan its participation in upgrading Manas International Airport. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) is a regional development bank established by the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2006. The Bank currently has six member states located in both Asia and Europe, including Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan. Other states and international organizations are able to become members by signing up to the Bank's founding Agreement. The Bank's mission is to facilitate, through its investment activity, the development of market economies, economic growth and the expansion of trade and other economic ties in its member states. The Bank's charter capital totals US $7 billion, including US $1.5 billion of paid-in capital and US $5.5 billion of callable capital. Air Manas is a budget air carrier of Kyrgyzstan, headquartered in Bishkek. The airline's base airport is Manas International Airport. The company was founded in 2006 as Air Manas. In June 2012, 49% of the company's shares were purchased by the Pegasus Airlines Turkish budget airline, with the remaining 51% owned by private individuals in the Kyrgyz Republic. In autumn 2015, Air Manas became an independent brand.
