Kyrgyz police study Dubai Police's work on ensuring road safety

Bishkek, Feb.18, 2020. /Kabar/. Officers of the Bishkek City Internal Affairs Department have studied in detail the work of the Dubai Emirate police on ensuring road and public safety through IT technologies and combating cybercrime. According to the Foreign Ministry's press service, cooperation between law enforcement agencies is carried out within the framework of implementation of agreements, reached in 2019 on the establishment of a smart police station in Bishkek (Smart Police Station project), with the provision of software and technical assistance to the Kyrgyz side in support of ongoing reforms in Kyrgyzstan. This project is planned to be launched in 2020. The exercise took place in the course of cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the police of the Emirate of Dubai, with the assistance of the Consulate General of the Kyrgyz Republic in Dubai. In addition, the Kyrgyz delegation met with Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al-Marri, Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police. Abdullah Khalifa Al-Marri praised the developing dynamics of bilateral cooperation between the countries, and expressed the hope that joint projects would benefit and strengthen cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the Kyrgyz Republic and the United Arab Emirates. The project was first developed and put into operation in Dubai in 2017 and represents a wide range of digital services, aimed at improving and controlling the quality of service and customer service with the help of modern IT technologies and software. The project includes both the construction of a fixed IT police station and the creation of mobile applications through which the public receives public services (reporting an incident or crime, obtaining a certificate of criminal record, paying fines, etc.) without having to visit the police station.
