Kyrgyzstan: COVID-19 death toll climbs to 24

Bishkek, June 9, 2020. /Kabar/. In Osh Oblast, 47-year-old woman died of a COVID-19 coronavirus infection, Deputy Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan Nurbolot Usenbayev said Tuesday. "At the end of May she was hospitalized in the hematology department of the Osh Oblast Hospital with multiple myeloma with kidney damage. She was receiving chemotherapy. On May 31, during a laboratory study, she was diagnosed with COVID-19. The woman was transferred to the Osh Clinical Hospital. Despite the therapy and resuscitation measures, she died of acute respiratory and heart failure," he said. Kyrgyzstan confirmed Tuesday 23 new cases of novel coronavirus, raising the total to 2,055. 403 of these cases are registered among medical workers, 1,483 people have cured and been discharged from hospitals, including 293 medics. 24 people have passed away.
