Kyrgyzstan, Italy to sign agreement on cultural interaction

Kyrgyzstan and Italy are planning to sign an agreement on cooperation in the field of culture, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Kyrgyzstan Pasquale D’Avino told after a meeting with President Sooronbay Jeenbekov on the occasion of presenting credentials to the head of state. He said that the document will be signed by one of Bishkek universities from the Kyrgyz side. “Mr. President and I made it clear that the most important model of international relations is formed in our hearts and minds, based on culture. In the near future, an agreement on cultural cooperation will be signed with one of Bishkek universities. Italy is the world leader in the UNESCO heritage in this area,” the diplomat shared. He noted that the meeting with the President was wonderful with Italian and Kyrgyz warmth. “As for the meeting with the President of Kyrgyzstan, I was very lucky. He has been to Italy: he enjoyed Italian cuisine, saw Italian culture, and understood what it means to be Italian. I am very glad that he fell in love with Italy just as I fell in love with Kyrgyzstan. The most important thing is to fall in love with your friend's country,” the ambassador said. In addition, he also shared his impressions of Kyrgyzstan and told what he managed to do in a short time. “On the days I was in Kyrgyzstan, I managed to see the attention of the Kyrgyz people to Italy. For example, we were in karaoke, and I was happy to see that most of the songs were in Italian. I was able to visit different places of Kyrgyzstan, such as Issyk-Kul and Son-Kul. And having visited the Ala-Archa Gorge, I met climbers from Italy there, who are also absolutely in love with Kyrgyzstan,” he said enthusiastically. The ambassador extended his best wishes to all Kyrgyzstanis and expressed the belief that the people of Kyrgyzstan and Italy will strive to get to know each other better and build a foundation for friendly relations.
