Kyrgyzstan to pay compensation for doctors infected with COVID-19

Compensation for doctors infected with COVID-19 coronavirus infection is currently under consideration, Health Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sabirzhan Abdikarimov told a news briefing in the Government House. He said that the amount of compensation will be determined by the commission - this is a one-time compensation, and in case of death it will be different. The minister also noted that the law on the status of doctors during an emergency will be submitted to the Jogorku Kenesh the other day, and they are ready to make amendments in an expedited manner, i.e. consider immediately in 3 readings. “For doctors, this will be an important bill. Now experts are preparing a document and in the near future, we hope that it will be submitted to the parliament,” the minister said. 7 health workers have been infected with coronavirus infection in Kyrgyzstan: 2 doctors and 5 nurses, who had contacted with patients. The total number of confirmed COVID-19 infection cases is 228.
