Kyrgyzstan received $121.5 mln in aid from external resources to date

Bishkek, Apr. 29, 2020. /Kabar/. To date, Kyrgyzstan has actually received $120.8 million in the first tranche from the International Monetary Fund, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Erkin Asrandiyev told Wednesday.
According to him, these funds have been converted and credited to the Finance Ministry’s account and are used to cover budget expenditures.
Also, the Ministry of Health actually received about $700 thousand in the form of products, medicines, tests, etc.
"Also $9 million was approved by the World Bank through the Ministry of Health. A tender on the terms and conditions of the WB has recently been completed. If the tender results are approved, the delivery of these products will begin," he said.
The deputy PM noted that part of the proceeds is in the form of a soft loan and part - in the form of grants.
"For example, some of funds from the IMF is an interest-free loan, while others - in the form of a soft loan. All this is included in the amount of external debt and will be paid out of the budget on schedule," he added.
