Kyrgyzstan reports 506 new COVID-19 cases

Bishkek, July 3, 2020 / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan reported 506 confirmed COVID-19 cases on Friday raising the total number of infections to 6,767. Head of the public health care department of the country’s Health Ministry Ainura Akmatova said that 2,955 laboratory tests were conducted in the country in the last 24 hours, which detected 506 new cases. Of the new cases, 1 case is imported, the rest 505 are contacts of confirmed patients, she said. Among the new cases 73 are medical workers, bringing the total number of contracted medical workers to 994, including 484 recoveries. Akmatova said that 2,655 patients who were tested positive for COVID-19 had recovered from the disease since the outbreak of the virus, including 125, who were discharged from hospitals over the past day after showing improvement. The representative of the Health Ministry reported 10 new virus-related deaths, raising the total number of death toll to 76. Meanwhile, 638 people remained hospitalized, 19 patients are in intensive care. In addition, 3398 asymptomatic patients are in home quarantine. In total 23,019 people had contact with infected patients.
