Kyrgyzstan reports 52 new COVID-19 cases

Bishkek, May 27, 2020 / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan on Wednesday confirmed 52 new COVID-19 cases, raising its total number of infections to 1520. Among the newly infected cases, 12 are medical workers, 10 are Kyrgyz citizens who have evacuated from Russia and the rest are contacts of confirmed cases, said the country's Deputy Health Minister Nurbolot Usenbaev. Usenbaev said the number of infected medical workers increased to 299, including 243 recoveries. He also noted that 28 people recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1043. Currently, 461 patients are in hospital with confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis, and 4 of them are in the intensive care unit, he added. A total of 2835 people in the country who have had contact with infected patients are under medical observation. 3706 tests carried out in the past 24 hours in the country, The number of contacts of the infected is 7054, all of them under the supervision of doctors in home quarantine.
