Kyrgyzstan reports 526 new COVID-19 cases

Bishkek, July 2, 2020 / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan reported 526 confirmed COVID-19 cases on Thursday raising the total number of infections to 6,261. Head of the public health care department of the country’s Health Ministry Ainura Akmatova said that 3,281 laboratory tests were conducted in the country in the last 24 hours, which detected 526 new cases. Of the new cases, 7 cases are imported, the rest are contacts of confirmed patients, she said. Among the new cases 42 are medical workers, bringing the total number of contracted medical workers to 921, including 464 recoveries. Akmatova said that 2,530 patients who were tested positive for COVID-19 had recovered from the disease since the outbreak of the virus, including 87, who were discharged from hospitals over the past day after showing improvement. The representative of the Health Ministry reported 4 new virus-related deaths, raising the total number of death toll to 66. Meanwhile, 735 people remained hospitalized, 110 are in serious condition, 24 patients are in intensive care. In addition, 2903 asymptomatic patients are in home quarantine. In total 21,950 people had contact with infected patients.
