Kyrgyzstan reports 78 new COVID -19 cases, 1216 in total

Bishkek, May 18, 2020 / Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan’s health authorities reported on Monday 78 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number to 1216 cases in the country.
Nurbolot Usenbaev, the country's deputy health minister, said that among 1669 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 78 cases came back positive.
He noted that among the newly infected 43 are Kyrgyz citizens, who arrived from Russia, 4 are medical workers and the rest are contacts of the confirmed cases.
The official noted that the total number of contracted medical workers amounted to 255 people, 212 of them have recovered.
The number of recovered cases increased to 827 with 23 new recoveries in the past day, Usenbaev said.
Currently, 375 COVID-19 patients are in hospitals, six of them are in intensive care, 2236 people who had contact with infected patients are under medical observation.
In addition, the number of contacts of laboratory-confirmed patients with COVID-19 makes 6050 people, and all of them are under the supervision of doctors in home quarantine.
