Malaysia Can Make Switzerland's Vocational Education System As Model

LUCERNE (Switzerland), Dec 1 (Bernama) -- Malaysia can make the Switzerland vocational education system as a model as it is considered among the best in the world. The Crown Prince of Malaysia's northernmost state of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail said vocational education not only build skills but also address unemployment since the graduates were in high demand. "Malaysia should study how Switzerland makes vocational education as the first choice of students," he told Bernama during a visit to Glasi Hergiswill glassmaking factory Saturday. In addition to glassmaking, Glasi Hergiswill also has a museum open to visitors wanting to explore the history of the company since 1817. Tuanku Syed Faizuddin is chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UNIMAP or University of Malaysia, Perlis is a government-funded Malaysian public university). Also on the working trip were UNIMAP deputy vice-chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni) Assoc Prof Dr Mohd Fo'ad Sakdan and Student Representative Council (MPP) leaders. --BERNAMA
