KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 21 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian King, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah (front, left) Wednesday night officiated an art exhibition by local young artist Ken Yang (front, right) entitled, 'Paris-Kuala Lumpur'.
The exhibition, a joint effort of the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) is being held at the National Visual Arts Gallery here from Oct 28 to Jan 31, next year.
Also present were ATM chief Zulkifeli Mohd Zin, Social and Cultural Adviser to the Government Dr Rais Yatim, Tourism and Culture Ministry secretary-general Dr Ong Hong Peng, National Visual Art Development Board director-general Haned Masjak and the French Ambassador to Malaysia Martine Dorance.
In his speech, Malaysia's Tourism and Culture Minister Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz said Ken Yang's art work comprised portraits which displayed the style of classic Renaissance such as Leonardo da Vinci.
"The idea for the exhibition came from Rais Yatim who saw Ken Yang's work when he was at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation in Paris in 2011," he said. (photoBERNAMA)
