No confirmed cases of coronavirus in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Feb.25, 2020. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan’s Deputy Prime Minister Altynai Omurbekova held another meeting of the Republican Headquarters for Preventing Import and Further Spread of Coronavirus in the Kyrgyz Republic, the press service of the Government reported on Monday. During the meeting it was noted there are no confirmed cases of coronavirus in the country by Feb.24. There are 143 people under medical supervision in hospital, while 391 people are under medical supervision at their place of residence. All checkpoints at the state border of the Kyrgyz Republic are continuing to operate in a reinforced regime. Representatives of the Ministry of Health, the State Border Service, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant services spoke about the work being done to implement a set of measures in the relevant areas. The Health Ministry, taking into account the situation in the world on coronavirus, has decided to make changes in the algorithm of actions, developed in accordance with the clinical guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO). According to it, persons arriving from Japan, South Korea and Iran (the list will be supplemented depending on the epidemiological situation in the world) as well as those coming from China will be quarantined in specialized premises for 14 days. The meeting participants were reminded that, according to the (WHO), coronavirus is not transmitted through parcels or objects. The virus does not withstand temperatures of 40 ° C and is not very persistent in the environment. Since the end of January 2020, all persons coming from countries with a poor epidemiological situation are subject to mandatory screening, quarantine and further entry into the country. Deputy PM Omurbekova said the Government is taking necessary measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection. Following the meeting, she gave a number of instructions to the relevant state bodies. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been instructed to continue working with citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic to protect their rights and health. The Ministry of Education and Science has been instructed to raise awareness among students at educational organizations about the coronavirus and rules of personal hygiene in order to prevent viral infections. The Ministry of the Economy has been instructed to finalize a plan of anti-crisis measures to prevent the country's economic indicators from falling due to the current situation in China. The State Antimonopoly Regulation Agency has been instructed to continue monitoring the prices of medicines and medical products, as well as basic foodstuffs in order to prevent unjustified price increases.
